  • Leisure Pool – Family fun with the lagoon, flume and steam and sauna rooms. (there is also a pool at Dalfaber Country Club a few minutes walk from the holiday house, which is part of the MacDonald Resort).

Landmark Forest Adventure Park is a fun and educational attraction.  With plenty of forest trails a working sawmill and fire tower to climb to enjoy the panoramic of the Cairngorm National Park.

The adventure park features the wild water coaster ride, runaway timber train, rope work and a maze to challenge young and old.  There is a shop and restaurant and cafe providing hot and cold snacks or you can bring your own picnic.

Highland Folk Museum (FREE Entry)

The Highland Folk Museum is Britain’s 1st open air museum.  With real working crofts, you are walk around to see what it was like in the 1700’s – 1960’s.  There are over 30 historical buildings and cottages that you can explore.

1700’s Township at one end through to our 1930’s working croft at the other (approximately 1 mile) with a Play Adventure Park offers a fun and educational family day out.  A well stocked shop and restaurant.

Highland Wildlife Park

Highland Wildlife Park has a wide range of animals from Capercaillies and Scottish Wildcats to Amur Tigers and Polar Bears. Drive around the Main Reserve in your own car and then investigate the walk around area on foot.

Cairngorm Sleddog Centre, Aviemore

Cairngorm Sleddog Centre is the only daily working centre in the UK and one of only 5 in Europe.  The Centre offers  you a tour of of the kennels and museum meeting it’s team of 37 sleddogs.  Professional sleddog course are also available.

Cairngorm Reindeer Herd

Reindeer House, Glenmore, Aviemore

Cairngorm Reindeer Herd Daily guided tours up the hill to visit the free ranging herd of reindeer where the main herd live all year round. After a short drive in convoy, it is then followed by a 20-30 minute walk up to the reindeer.  The opportunity to hand feed, stroke and take photographs.  The paddocks are open daily which are more suited for young children and visitors who are unable to go on the hill tour. There is a Santa’s Bothy and the Elves House along with a quiz for children to explore.

Whisky Trails

Malt Whisky Trails (coach trips can be booked locally) – if you’re driving (please don’t drink and drive!) then we recommend visiting the Glenlivet distillery (open mid-March to October) where tours and a dram at the end are free – and there is a good exhibition centre and coffee shop.
